When "It Works" Isn't Enough

Have you ever heard this phrase at work? "It works, don't touch it." I know I have, many times. It's human nature to stick with what's familiar, even when it’s clear that some processes are clunky, ineffective, or simply not scalable.

In my experience, these workarounds often signal something deeper: we don't fully understand the process itself. When it takes multiple steps just to get the information we need, it's a clear sign that there's room for improvement.

But here's the tricky part: trying to introduce changes can sometimes feel really challenging. People may hesitate or resist because they are comfortable with the old way, even if it's not the best way.

So, what's the solution? Lead by example. Start small. Implement a change or two, and then show the team how those improvements lead to better results. It's all about demonstrating the value of change, not just talking about it.

Sometimes, this means working closely with individuals to help them adapt. A little one-on-one support can make all the difference when someone is learning a new process. And don't forget to celebrate the wins—big or small. By highlighting successes, you can turn doubts into enthusiasm.

Change is hard, but it's worth it.
