Before, I was a strong advocate of the statement, "We need to find insights in the data."
I shared this belief with multiple stakeholders, convinced it was the true path to unlocking value.
However, I've come to realize that working with raw data to find just "insights" can be pointless.
Without context, domain knowledge, pain points, and well-formed hypotheses, you risk discovering artificial relationships that offer no real business value.
Now, I approach things differently. I start not with the raw data, but with brainstorming sessions.
The goal? To understand which questions—real, impactful questions—we need to answer. I let experts talk, allowing them to formulate their needs and goals.
Because without a specific goal, you're just wandering in an endless data space.
