No matter what task you're performing or the role you occupy, it's crucial to never act on half of the information. This is especially true in data analysis.
When you base your analysis on an assumption, it sets off a chain reaction. You create a report, draw conclusions, and business decisions are made from that analysis. But what if the initial assumption was wrong?
The entire process can collapse like a domino effect, leading to fragile decisions that can be damaging for the business.
My advice? Collect all the information in advance. Clarify and confirm any assumptions.
Fixing errors in a completed analysis or research is not only difficult, but it often leads to even more mistakes.
